CLP has been around for over 30 years and has been in my family for the past 10 years. True to most family run businesses, I spent some time sweeping, delivering, shipping, receiving and learning the ropes from the inside out. In 2006 I took possession and have never looked back.

What I have learned over the past 20+ years from my experience in family business is that there are three ingredients for a strong company: valuable clients, educated/stable manpower, and articulate leadership. Here at Calgary Lighting Products I am proud to say that is exactly what we have. As such, we are Calgary’s fastest growing commercial wholesale lighting distribution company.

Our vision is to “develop a long term lighting distribution network of EXCELLENCE”. We constantly try to achieve our vision by trying to improve on all areas of our business all the time. - We use SAP Business One Solutions to give us the infrastructure to operate more efficiently; such as same day deliveries and better inventory management.

CLP developed an environmental mandate and searched for a way to fulfill it while also following in tradition of being an industry leader. CLP sells a tremendous number of fluorescent tubes every year and it occurred to us that we are the best positioned company in the industry to encourage recycling of fluorescent tubes and ballasts.

By offering a free service to our customers to recycle fluorescent tubes and ballasts, we were able to fulfill our mandate and be the first company in Canada to initiate a program of this style.

After doing much research, we purchased our very own BulbEater and started to create our own solution to an ever growing problem. Since our inception over two years ago, CLP along with our numerous clients have diverted over 750,000 mg of mercury and over 250,000 linear feet of fluorescent tube. Imagine over 250 CN towers end to end! Since the start of our program, CLP has encouraged many of our competitors to provide a recycling option for their clients. What differentiates us is that our recycling service is at ZERO cost to our customers.

Our business grows every year, one of our strongest growth routes are due to referrals from our customers for meeting and exceeding their needs. For this we are very grateful and would like to acknowledge that we understand the value of repeat business and referrals.

CLP is very proud to let everyone know that all of our staff has taken IES lighting courses and take continuous education to stay up to speed on current and new lighting technology.
